WORD AND SPIRIT

We are a WORD and SPIRIT church. We believe that GOD imparts everything necessary for the fullness of life through the inseparable reality of His WORD and SPIRIT. We obey the WORD of GOD because it is GOD’S absolute truth and we live by the SPIRIT that we may have life and no longer fulfill the desires of the sinful nature. Our goal is that through the Word and the Spirit we will become mature, attaining to the fullness of Christ.

LEADERSHIP

It is the heart of the elders of The Foundry Christian Church, as we are moved and directed by God’s Word and Spirit, in His love and deep passion which so powerfully works in us, to be shepherds following in the footsteps of the great Shepherd. Our desire is to set a pattern, model and standard by participating in the growth of the body, laboring in and teaching the Word to see that the vision of the church is established in the hearts of the saints, seeing God move to the fullest in their lives through the Holy Spirit, facilitating the unity of the faith and by being a vital part of the people. We will keep watch over you as men who must give an account to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

CHARISMA

We consider ourselves charismatic (operating in the “grace gifts” through the manifestation of the SPIRIT of GOD for the common good of the body) according to the specific guidelines of biblical teaching. We however “do not” believe in a “religious charismatic world view” that says, “Anything goes as long as the spirit is moving”. We hold to the truth of GOD in scripture that “spiritual gifts” are to “bless the whole body of CHRIST” so that “all will be edified and strengthened”.

BUILDING FOUNDATION GROUNDING

What do we mean when we say grounding, foundation and building? Well, in a nutshell, it is related to all that it takes to build a house which not only includes the house, but the foundation and the ground that it will all be laid upon. The reference is in part from Matthew 13:23 and 1 Corinthians 3:10 where we can clearly see things being prepared. In each case, they will be tried to see if they will persevere and be found worthy to be used of GOD. In any building project, every part must be carefully considered otherwise the building will not be able to stand. The “ground” is extremely important because the blueprint for the beginning of the construction cannot move forward until the ground is prepared. The beginning of the construction will end in failure if the ground is not prepared properly, in the same way the crops did in the parable that Jesus spoke of in Matthew and Mark. With that said, we should be able to see the importance of properly prepared “ground”. In addition to the preparation of the ground, we can all understand the necessity of a good foundation and in this case, it is obviously the LORD JESUS is that foundation. But I think that all too often we take for granted the importance of the LORD in everything but our initial salvation. GOD is not building something that is just for a momentary event to help men escape from hell. GOD is building an eternal house whose builder is GOD HIMSELF. The believers are that house and they are being built together as “living stones”, a “spiritual house”, the temple of the living GOD which will be tried by fire. There is nothing in the material world, including the flesh, which will be able to stand this test of fire. The only thing that will be able to stand is that which is spiritual. The House that is built is the “new man” created in the likeness of GOD but now with the uncreated life of GOD permeating every part of his being. It is our purpose to be the image of GOD in the earth as living stones, chosen by GOD, precious to HIM. We are to be transformed into these living stones, a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood. The only true way that GOD can be fully glorified is through the unified sons of GOD. Much more could be said but as I said in the beginning, this is just in a nutshell.

Praise GOD, be blessed, Pastor Russ!!

BIBLE
We believe the bible to be the only inspired, infallible and authoritative WORD of GOD.
(2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13)

GOD
We believe that there is one God, eternally coexistent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

JESUS
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His personal return in power and glory.
(Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; Isaiah 7:14, 9:6)

SALVATION
We believe that salvation of the lost and sinful man, with regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is the only way to come into relationship with God.
(Romans 5:12,18)

HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. We believe His power and gifts are for the believers today.
(John 16:13, Ephesians 4:7, Romans 12:6, Galatians 5:22)

RESURRECTION
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

SACRAMENTS
We believe it is important to uphold the scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we hold to the practices of water baptism and communion. We do not believe that either of these practices are essential for salvation but they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ.
